'63 FALCON XL UTE

when this australian built falcon xl utility was originally sold back in 1963, the ford pr guys claimed a power output of 90 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 18.1 seconds.
these days, this ‘restomod’ ute has performance figures that would leave those pr guys speechless.
thanks to a fully rebuilt 289 mustang v8, coupled to a fully refreshed c4, this car produces around 250 horsepower at the rear wheel, and can sprint to 60 (100km) in around 7.5 seconds.
other performance tweaks include:
-
Holley Carb
-
Electronic ignition
-
9" Galaxie Dif
-
Mustang GT sway bar
-
Falcon XF rotors
-
HK calipers
-
Suspension lowered 2 inches
-
Thermo fan
-
15” American Racing rims (blacked-out)
-
20 kg ballast packs over rear
the ute had a full nut and bolt restoration around 8 years ago, and today the quality of that restoration is very evident. the panel-work is still gun-barrel straight, and there are absolutely zero signs of rust.
recently, she has benefited from a cabin refresh, including new carpet, hand-crafted door trims, and a retro looking modern sound system - not that you really need a sound system with the sweet rumble of that v8.
here is a ute that you can drive everyday and have fun embarrassing modern so-called sports cars.
